Ali Forney Center
The Ali Forney Center (AFC) is the largest organization working to care for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning youths who have been rejected by their families and thrown out into the streets because of their identity. AFC provides housing, mental healthcare, and a host of other supports to help LGBTQ youth heal from the trauma of family rejection and the harms of street homelessness. Operating across 18 sites that serve over 2,000 young people a year, AFC is a leading provider ensuring that the most vulnerable members of the LGBTQ community have the necessary resources and support to thrive. Additionally, AFC also operates specialized training and advocacy in 10 countries and partners with 44 entities in the United States helping communities build resources and support locally for LGBTQ youth who are facing homelessness due to family rejection.

GLSEN
GLSEN exists to create safe and affirming schools and learning environments for all K-12 students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, because no young person should have to choose between their well-being and an education. As a leader in both the global movement for LGBTQ+ equality and in the whole-child movement for educational equity, GLSEN programs assist students, schools, educators, systems leaders, and communities in reducing victimization of our LGBTQ+ youth and setting the course for a safer, more equitable future. Over the last decade, the LGBTQ Center OC’s Youth Program has served as a comprehensive model program built upon unconditional acceptance of sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, and cultural diversity. The Center provides a variety of services and programs to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and young adults through social support, education, mental health services, and youth leadership and empowerment. ARELAS is a Spanish association that provides support for trans children and their families and that has been working for more than five years to achieve equal opportunities and rights for Spanish trans minors in all areas of public and private life. ARELAS fights to achieve a diverse society free from discrimination based on sexual identity. The association develops activities and programs promoting the participation of trans minors in social, political, cultural, sports and financial life. ARELAS offers information, advice, support and accompaniment to families and trans people who are without family support, creating networks and spaces for meeting and mutual support.

BeLonG To Youth Services is the national organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI+) young people in Ireland. Since 2003, BeLonG To has worked with LGBTI+ young people to create a world where they are equal, safe and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences. BeLonG To’s work spans people, policy and practice. The organization focuses on eliminating the isolation, discrimination and harassment faced by LGBTI+ young people through frontline youth work and vital support services. At a policy level, the organization works to promote equality for LGBTI+ young people to remove the structural and social barriers which result in exclusion, isolation, and marginalization.

Coming Out Day e.V.
The role of the COMING OUT DAY eV association is to inform and improve the lives of young lesbian, gay, bi, trans and inter+ people in Germany. To achieve this goal, the association provides information to actively promote awareness of the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTI+ teenagers that unfortunately and all too often ends in depression, addiction, or suicide for many young people due to ongoing discrimination. Diversity Role Models is a U.K. LGBTQ+ education charity which actively seeks to embed inclusion and empathy in the next generation. Their vision is a world where everyone embraces diversity and can thrive. This will help create a world where future generations embrace, accept and support difference. Their mission is to create an education system in which every young person will know they are valued and supported, whoever they are. They create safe spaces where young people can explore difference and consider their role in creating a world where all feel accepted. Their student workshops feature LGBT+ or ally role models who speak openly about their lived experiences, building young people’s empathy so they can understand the (often unintended) impact of their language and actions. In order to ensure sustained change they supplement this by training school governors, staff, and parents/carers.

Famiglie Arcobaleno, created by LGBT+ singles and parents, is an independent Italian association founded in March 2005. The organization stands against all forms of discrimination and advocates for LGBT+ parenting to be recognized in the Italian legal system and in society, to protect children and their loved ones and to reduce the stigma around LGBT+ parenting. The association aims to promote cultural, social and political changes around the topic of family, and facilitates dialogue between current parents or would-be LGBT+ parents, while equipping them with the tools needed to raise their children.

MAG Jeunes LGBT+
MAG Jeunes LGBT+ is a non-profit organization for LGBTI+ youth aged 15 to 30 years old. It is the leading national LGBTI+ youth organization in France. The organization helps and guides young people in need through educational interventions in schools that raise awareness about LGBTI+ discrimination and promote respect for diversity and inclusion. It also organizes several leisure, cultural and sports activities, as well as big annual events such as the Grand Pride Ball of Paris. Established in 1985, MAG Jeunes LGBT+ provides LGBTI+ people with opportunities to live better and freely express their sexual orientation or gender identity. The organization fights against displays of rejection, hatred, violence and discrimination that LGBTI+ youth may face, and fights against homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and sexism.

Ashoka and TED-Ed Clubs
Ashoka is a global organization with experience in social innovation and entrepreneurship purposely seeking that all people see themselves as change makers. TED-Ed Clubs is an initiative meant to help the ideas of youths and adolescents to be heard, and that develops transformative experiences to re-think education. Transform the World with your Ideas is a project cocreated by both organizations with the support of Disney. It is an immersive experience for teens aged 15 thru 18 years-old in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina that drives them to find an idea they’re passionate about and share it with the world through a short, powerful and inspiring talk, igniting a transformative spirit in their communities.

It Gets Better
It Gets Better helps LGBTQ+ youth come to terms with their identity and empower them through storytelling and education. It Gets Better seeks to share the experiences of others who have overcome adversity, thus instilling hope in the new generations by connecting them with the information and resources they may need to feel more accepted and loved by their communities, no matter what situation they live their home or school. The Walt Disney Company has supported It Gets Better affiliates in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru by sponsoring their efforts to develop content that supports LGBTQ+ youth in Latin America (including events, downloadable tools, videos, and an educational site: https://diversiland.org/). More recently, the company has developed an institutional reel and supported the creation of new content for the website, as well as a media campaign for regional outreach.

Impacto Digital
Contratá Trans is a program led by Impacto Digital, an association specialized in the design of technological solutions to social problems from a human rights perspective. Contratá Trans connects trans people in search of employment with companies, social organizations, and public institutions, to generate real job opportunities in safe environments and committed to diversity and inclusion. Thanks to the support of The Walt Disney Company, they develop the “Trans Training in Technology” program, teaching on testing aimed at 20 people from the travesti, trans and non-binary community in Argentina. In addition, the funds strengthen the federal development of the program in at least 3 provinces, to shorten the existing digital gap in the Argentina trans community and expand the scope of the organization in the country, contributing to their access to job placement opportunities and entrepreneurship.

The project seeks to offer a space where people from the community can have professional interaction. With the support of The Walt Disney Company, FME is designing a platform for employability and training on the Federation’s page. This tool improves formal job opportunities for people from the LGBT community.

The Fundación Grupo de Acción y Apoyo a personas Trans (GAAT), is a community-based social organization that works for the promotion, defense of the rights and full citizenship of people with trans life experiences through their support networks in Colombia, especially in the city of Bogota. With the donation made by The Walt Disney Company, they are adapting a computer room with furniture for twelve (12) people to offer courses. These sessions are intended to contribute to the training of people with trans life experiences, their families, and their support networks. They aim to generate basic knowledge of design and programming elements. Also, they educate on the management of specific computer tools to perform tasks that are useful in the workplace.

Grupo Dignidade and It Gets Better
It Gets Better is a global project for LGBTQIA+ youth and Grupo Dignidade, an organization with more than 30 years of existence focused on the inclusion of people from the LGBTQIA+ community throughout Brazil. With the support of The Walt Disney Company, they create professional trainings for trans youth in the audiovisual sector. The project aims to train and facilitate opportunities for young people from the trans community from and the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. During the training, LGBTQIA+ youth participate in workshops to connect with leading professionals in the audiovisual field, as well as receive practical experience in a filming set. At the end of this journey, the young people will have built high-quality audiovisual material in their portfolio and a powerful network of contacts to support employability.

Minus18
Minus18 are champions for LGBTQIA+ young people in Australia. By leading change and building social inclusion, Minus18 is advocating for an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them. Minus18 believes in equipping young people with the skills they need in every program to be at the forefront of driving change, empowering the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders. Through harm prevention and health promotion, Minus18 tackles social isolation by creating fun-filled spaces where LGBTQIA+ young people belong and are celebrated. Minus18 events are about being visible, making friends and feeling supported. Creating an Australia free from discrimination is a job for everyone. Minus18 transforms communities through LGBTQIA+ training, resources, and digital campaigns that enable others to champion inclusivity. The Walt Disney Company’s donation helps support young people aged 18-25 participate in the Minus18 Young Leader program, with professional development, training and honorariums for every session to help remove barriers of participation.

InsideOUT Koaro
InsideOUT Kōaro is a national rainbow non-for-profit with a focus on supporting rainbow and takatāpui young people in schools across Aotearoa/New Zealand. They provide support services to students, QSAs, school staff and whānau (families) to make schools safer and more inclusive for young people. Services include advocacy, educational resources and rainbow competency training for school staff, workplaces and mental health professionals. InsideOUT Kōaro organise the Schools’ Pride Week Aotearoa and Out on the Shelves campaigns, which celebrate rainbow young people and provide them with a greater sense of belonging within their communities. Disney’s support and donation allows Out on the Shelves to reach more school and community libraries, organise exciting events and grow access to rainbow representation in literature. When rainbow young people can see themselves reflected in stories, they can feel less alone, understand themselves better and feel more connected to their communities.

Nijiiro Diversity
‘Nijiiro’ means rainbow in Japanese. Since the establishment of Nijiiro Diversity in 2013, the organization has been encouraging diversity, inclusion and individual agency in the workplace. Nijiiro is the first non-profit organization in Japan to take on issues of LGBTQ+ discrimination in the workplace and attempt to create change by providing research, informational lectures, training and consultations for corporations, government agencies and academic institutions. Nijiiro Diversity aims to create a safe and friendly working environment for LGBTQ+ people, empower the Japanese LGBTQ+ community and contribute to the creation of an inclusive society for all people. Nijiiro Diversity’s vision is that people should be accepted and treated fairly in all workplaces without fear of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. From 2022, the organization is also operating Pride Center Osaka, the first LGBTQ+ center in western Japan.
